Abstract

This research is motivated by the urgency of fostering the morals of students who face various challenges, such as the negative influence of globalization, the crisis of role models, and the weak role of the family. Islamic boarding school is an important alternative to foster students' morals and Islamic character through intensive religious education. The purpose of this study is to trace the trends and development of the issue of flash pesantren in fostering students' morals based on bibliometric analysis. This study uses a quantitative design with bibliometric research methods, analyzing 58 articles published in 2020-2024 collected through Google Scholar with the help of the Publish or Perish application. The results showed that the trend of flash pesantren research continues to increase, although the number of publications is still limited. The year 2024 recorded the most publications (19 articles), and e-journals became the dominant source (76%). Productive researchers include Sumardi Efendi, Muflihatul Fauza, and Herman. Issues that are often studied include the effectiveness, influence, and activities of flash pesantren. This research suggests developing topics related to the influence of flash pesantren on morals and character. The limitation of this research is that it has not involved international databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. Therefore, the development of flash pesantren studies in the future is very important for strengthening character education and Islamic morals.
