Integrasi Model Discovery Learning Berbantuan Digital Map pada Pembelajaran Peta Sebaran Kerajaan di Indonesia: Studi Literature Review

This study aims to analyze the application of the discovery learning model aided by digital maps in teaching the distribution of kingdoms in Indonesia. This study employs a systematic literature review method by analyzing 25 scientific articles obtained from the Google Scholar and Garuda databases between 2020 and 2026. The literature search process used the keywords “discovery learning,” “digital map,” “social studies education,” “maps of Indonesian kingdoms,” and “digital learning media.” Articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, which included topic relevance, year of publication, and relevance to digital technology-based learning. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, categorization, synthesis, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a discovery learning model supported by digital maps can enhance students’ learning activities, motivation, critical thinking skills, and spatial understanding of the material on the distribution of kingdoms in Indonesia. The use of digital maps helps students understand geographical relationships, spheres of influence, trade routes, and the development of kingdoms in a more concrete and interactive manner. Furthermore, the integration of discovery learning with digital maps creates a learning experience that is more contextual, student-centered, and relevant to 21st-century learning needs. Thus, the discovery learning model supported by digital maps can serve as an effective digital technology-based social studies innovation for improving the quality of students’ historical and spatial learning.
