Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial orientation on digital entrepreneurship interest, with the role of social media as a mediating variable. The problem underlying this research is the high unemployment rate in Indonesia, particularly among university graduates, despite the growing potential of digital entrepreneurship in the technological era. This study employs the Social Learning Theory as its theoretical framework, which explains how observational learning, self-efficacy, and reciprocal determinism influence individuals' interest in engaging in digital entrepreneurship. The population of this research consists of students from the Faculty of Economics in Indonesia, with the sample determined using the purposive sampling method. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 29 with linear regression analysis and mediation testing through Sobel Test. The findings reveal that entrepreneurship education does not have a direct influence on digital entrepreneurship interest but exerts an indirect effect through social media. On the other hand, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive and significant influence on digital entrepreneurship interest, both directly and indirectly through social media. Social media serves as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial orientation, and digital entrepreneurship interest. This study provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of digital entrepreneurship literature, particularly among students. The findings also have practical implications for universities in designing digital entrepreneurship-based curricula and for policymakers in supporting entrepreneurship training programs that are better integrated with social media platforms
